The Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches is a family of over 500 local churches who are united by the gospel and by a common purpose. As a Fellowship it exists to encourage and equip the family of independent churches to thrive, impacting our nation with the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The FIEC believes that churches “thriving” will mean disciples growing in their faith, people becoming Christians, gospel workers being trained, and more churches being planted. This is how our nation will be “impacted”, as local churches flourish and send their members into the world to influence, love, work, and speak as ambassadors for the gospel.

Of course, there are many challenges facing churches seeking to thrive in our culture. This is especially true for churches that are independent of any denomination, and who therefore lack national representation and the blessings of shared resources. The Fellowship endeavours to be a solution to these common challenges associated with Independency, as well as being a catalyst for greater Christ-honouring partnership and ministry.

In working for the benefit of FIEC churches, they are active in five specific areas:

  • NATIONAL issues, vision and representation
  • PASTORAL care of churches and those who serve them
  • PRACTICAL support and advice
  • TRAINING for different types of Christian service
  • MISSION strategy, both here in the UK and further afield
